COLLECTION OF AUTOGRAPHS, consisting of notes, superscriptions and subscriptions to letters, signatures, etc., on scraps of paper. Some were the property of James Petiver, apothecary and botanist, in whose correspondence (Sloane MSS. 4062-4067) letters will be found from all the persons whose autographs are found in ff. 2-13 of the present MS. Some (ff. 19-24) are addressed to Sir Philip Sydenham, 3rd Bart. (d. 1739). The majority of those in ff. 29-76 have been annotated by Ralph Thoresby, the antiquary.
