TREATISES ON NAVIGATION, as follows:-
(1) 'The Art of Navigation, Book 1st', and (f. 23) 'Book 3d the latter containing only the first two of the eight chapters described on the title-page (f. 23). Leaves have been cut out (prior to the old foliation) after ff. 6, 11, 17, 22, 27. At the foot of f. 27 is written 'Laus Deo. 11o Mensis 4i 1723'. ff. 1-28.
(2) 'Histiodromia seu Navigandi Ars ad ... D. Ovenum Giedde Equitem Auratum Regni Daniae Archithalassum [?] perscripta a Nicolao Kauftman Holsato [i.e. Nicolaus Mercator]'; 17th cent. ff. 29-36.
(3) 'Suggestions for the Improvement of practical Navigation Geography and Astronomy ... by H. J.' preceded by (a) a coloured map 'Circus Atlanticus seu Naustathmus Britannicus vel Oculus Mundi', and (b) a letter from H. J. to 'Mr. Urban' (i.e. Edward Cave, editor of the Gentleman's Magazine) dated Cecil County, Maryland, 9 July 1753, in which he mentions that he has already written about his 'Georgian Calendar and Octave Arithmetic'.
