CONTRIBUTIONS to 'The Philosopher', etc. Viz:-
(1) 'The Philosopher' (nos. 13. 17, 19-21, 31, 36), with corrections in Birch's autograph. ff. 1-44. They include (a) an article by Jean(?) Le Clerc vindicating John Selden from an attack made on him in Samuel Drake's edition, 1729, of Archbishop Parker's work De antiquitate Britannicae Ecclesiae. ff. 2-5b;- (b) a translation of a part of Cicero's 'Pro Milone'. ff. 25-29.
(2) Two draft letters addressed to 'Leonidas' and 'Spartacus', and signed 'Paterculus', in Birch's autograph. The first contains an account of William Somerville's Chase, 1734 (i.e. 1735). ff. 45-47, 48-51 b. Paper; ff. 51. Small quarto. XVIII cent.
