BIRCH DIARY
Diary of Thomas Birch; 1735-1764. Latin and English. The diary proper begins at f. 11, the preceding leaves consisting chiefly of extracts from note-books, etc., bearing on Birch's early life, down to 1733, arranged more or less in chronological order; with (ff. 7, 9) a record of works which appeared between April 1728 and September 1730. At f. 167 there is a receipt by John Lockman for payment of his contribution to the General Dictionary; and at f. 196 instructions by Dr. John Ward, Gresham professor, to his printer. Paper; ff. 425.
