STUART COLLECTION. Vol. XIII (ff. ii + 51). Collections of arms by Richard Wallis; late 17th cent. Autograph. Entered chiefly on ruled pages, with two separate sets of contemporary foliation, a large number of leaves being left blank. The material consists mainly of pencil and pen drawings of miscellaneous arms and crests, most of which are in trick, a small number being painted (cf. ff. 1-3, 16b). Included are the following categories:-(a) Arms of Oxfordshire families. ff. 34-37b;-
(b) Arms of Fellows of the College of Physicians; circa 1666. ff. 38-40;- (c) Arms of Kentish families. ff. 43-5l b. At f. 29 is a copy of a grant of arms and crest of Edmond Bressy, junior, of Nettleden; 16 June 1613. Old number 'N. 29'(f. i).
