This manuscript with medical and botanical texts was largely written in the 13th century, but also include a botanical glossary in Latin, Anglo-Norman and Middle English that has been written in the late 12th century.

ff. 73r-74v: A list of plant names accompanied by single Latin verses on their virtues.
ff. 74v-75r: Three medical recipes in Latin.
ff. 75r-75v: A passage on the humours.
ff. 75v-79v: A medical treatise on oils.
ff. 79v-86v: A collection of medical recipes in Latin and the vernacular (Anglo-Norman and/or Middle English).
ff. 87r-89r: Fragments of two botanical treatises.
ff. 89v-91v: Various medical recipes.
ff. 92r-98r: A short treatise on herbs.
ff. 98r-98v: A short medical treatise.
ff. 99r-107v: Various medical recipes.
Decoration:
Numerous large initials in red and blue, some with penwork decoration. Paraph marks in red and blue. Highlighting in red. Line-fillers in red.

Binding: British Museum/British Library in-house; brown half leather; Sloane's book plate gold-stamped on the upper and lower covers, the spine inscribed in gold at the British Museum: 'MEDICAL TRACTS ETC.'

Sir Hans Sloane (b. 1660, d. 1753), baronet, physician and collector.
Purchased as part of the Sloane collection from Sloane's executors and incorporated into the newly founded British Museum in 1753.
