• ff. 12r-32v Queen Elizabeth I, including a biography of Sir William Cecil, first Baron Burghley (ff. 18v-24v), and accounts of Robert Dudley, first Earl of Leicester, Sir Christopher Hatton, Sir Walter Raleigh, and Robert Devereux, second Earl of Essex (ff. 27r-30r).

Another copy can be found in Add MS 22925. This is a presentation copy dated 26 July 1603 containing a dedication to Sir Thomas Hesketh (1548-1605), Attorney of the Court of Wards and Liveries. This manuscript also contains the same decorative penwork initials ‘JC’ (f. 56r).
