Paper, in 8vo, ff. 152, XV century.
1. A poem in old English concerning the duties of the Butler, Panter, yeman of the Sellar, Ewer and Sewer, ff. 2-15.
It begins thus:-
"Off suche thyngis as here be taughte by delygence,
To hym that nought can withowten experyence,
Yeff y fynde one that therein ys necligence
Y wylle theche hym ffor hurtying of my consyence."
Ending:
"Wyth hys spycyd cakys and his braggynge merely
Explicit panter butteler yeman of the seler, ewer and sewer."
1*. Treatise in verse on the office of Chamberlain (Imperfect) f. 14.
Beginning: "The chamberlayne in hys office owght to be delygent."
Ending: "Ffor your sowlle, master, wythoute ony nay
Unto Almyghty goode schall y pray
That he woll voychesaffe unto his blysse you bryng."
2. A kalendar, with the lucky and unlucky days marked, instructions for blood-letting, etc. ff. 16. b.-36.
3. The destiny of Man, Woman and Child to be learnt from the heavenly bodies, etc. ff. 36. b.-48.
4. A poem in old English giving the several tokens whether of good or of evil for every day in the month, with a prologue. ff. 49-64.
The prologue begins:-
"God that all this worlde wrowhte.
And all mankynde with his blod bowthe."
The poem begins:-
"The ffyrste day of the mone Adam,
Owre forefadyr to the worlde cam."
5. A short poem in old English giving the several tokens whether of good or of evil for every day in the week, with a prefaratory prologue. ff. 65-67.
The prologue begins:-
"But lusteny the newe and ye shall hyre
Talkying of a good matter."
The poem begins:
"Fall upon the Sonday,
That wyntter shall be good parfay."
6. Some rules etc. as to the taking of medicine according to the influence of the planets. f. 68.
7. An anonymous treatise upon the virtue of different herbs with their rinds. ff. 70-87.
It is intitled "Here shall you know al manner of herbis and the vertewus also growyng yn her rynde."
