A collection of medical prescriptions and various kinds of receipts; short explanatory sentences of the planets, etc. amongst them you will find the following: viz.-
1. Forms for drawing up several legal instruments, etc. f. 2.
2. Form of a deed of feoffment for seven acres of land by William Everey(?) of Eyston(?) ad montem, co. Essex, to William Andrews of — in the same county. f. 18. b.
3. Fragment of a sermon. f. 26.
4. "Quaedam nomina de infirmitatibus in lingua vernacula redacta." f. 65. b.
5. "Experimentum speculi; pro furto;" etc. or rather sundry charms by which experiments may be made. f. 100.
6. "De quatuor virtutibus rerum videlicet stellarum, lapidum herbarum atque figurarum." Anglice f. 101. b.
7. A treatise upon astronomy, called "The wyse boke of philosohye and astronomy made of the wysest philosophers and astronomers", collected by an Englishman, who went to Crete and there compiled it. f. 103. b.
8. A commission from Edmund Grindall, Bishop of London, addressed to Edmund (?) Thurland, Vicar of Cheshunt, John Baernes, Rector of Wormley, Nicholas Aspinall, Rector of Hormead Parva, William Preston, Rector of Hunsedon, and others, directing them to summon certain clergymen, suspended at his Lordship’s last visitation to make their appearance before them the 26th of June, at St Paul’s, and shew cause why the sentence should not be carried into execution.
