A single piece of palm-leaf, with Javanese text on one side, and Chinese on the reverse.
The Chinese text is a record of the purchase of four cows, and is dated possibly 1715: 乙未年正月初五日買牛四隻艮□廿九文□
The text is dated 乙未年正月初五日, 5th day of 1st month of yi wei year, equivalent to 10 Feb 1655 (Shunzhi reign) or 8 Feb 1715 (Kangxi reign). In view of Sloane's dates, the latter date is perhaps more likely.
