Quitclaim by Gonnora, widow of William Banastre of Wallington, Surrey, to the Hospital of St Thomas the Martyr, Southwark, for William’s soul, of half the rent owed by the hospital for the 6 acres of land which William had given them.
Should be dated after 1228 according to Birch, Catalogue of Seals, II, p. 458.
Endorsed: in a 13th-century hand, ‘Carta Gonnore relicte / Will[elm]I Banastre’.
Affixed with Gonnora's imperfect seal, oval, green, with a mermaid facing right and holding a flower, with the legend, ‘s[igillum] gunnore rite will[elm]i’.
