Seal of Emperor Alexius I Comnenus

Lead seal. On the obverse, Christ seated on a square-back throne, holding the Gospel on his left knee, the right hand in front of his chest in a blessing gesture, flanked by sigla; border of dots. On the reverse, the Emperor Alexius I Comnenus standing, wearing a tunic (divitision), a jeweled long scarf (loros) and a crown, holding in his right hand a long scepter and in the left hand an orb with a cross; circular inscription; border of dots.
Obverse: Ἰησοῦς Χρίστος
Reverse: Ἀλεξίῳ δεσπότῃ τῷ Κομνηνῷ
Translation:
Obverse: Jesus Christ.
Reverse: Alexius Comnenus master (despotes).
