Lead seal.
Obverse: St Demetrius on the left and St Nicholas on the right, both standing facing. St Demetrius is in military garb, holding a spear in the right hand and a shield in the left; St Nicholas is in ecclesiastical garb, wearing a long tunic (chiton) and holding the Gospel in his left hand, while his right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing in front of his chest. Border of dots.
Reverse: inscription of 5 lines preceded by a cross; border of dots.
Obverse: Ὁ ἅγιος Δημήτριος. Ὁ ἅγιος Νικόλαος.
Reverse: + Κύριε βοήθει Ἰωάννῃ κουροπαλάτῃ τῷ Τριακονταφύλλῳ.
Translation: Obverse: St Demetrius. St Nicholas. Reverse: Lord aid John Triakontaphyllus head of palace (curopalates).
The left part of the obverse and the corresponding right part of the reverse are crushed. The description of the obverse and the reading of the obverse and reverse are partly based on a parallel specimen in this collection, better preserved.
