Lead seal.
Obverse: Constantine Ducas Comnenus Palaeologus nimbate, beardless, standing facing in full length, in royal garb with ceremonial headgear (skiadion) decorated with cross, tunic (divitision) and chlamys of lozenge pattern, holding a sceptre with a jewelled top with the right hand; inscription in two columns on either side preceded, on a separate line, by a cross on the left and decorative elements on the right; border of dots.
Reverse: metrical inscription of 8 lines beginning with a cross; border of dots.
Obverse: Κωνσταντῖνος δεσπότης πορφυρογέννητος Δούκας Κομνηνὸς ὁ Παλαιολόγος.
Reverse: + Σφραγὶς ὁ Χριστὸς καὶ φυλακτὴρ καὶ σκέπη ἀνακτόπαιδος δεσπότου Κωνσταντίνου καὶ πορφυρανθοῦς Δούκα Παλαιολόγου.
Translation: Obverse: Constantine Ducas Comnenus Palaeologus, master (despotes) born in the purple (porphyrogennetos).
Reverse: Christ is the seal and the guardian and the protector of the master (despotes) Constantine Ducas Palaeologus, imperial scion and purple blossom.

Provenance:
Constantine Ducas Comnenus Palaeologus, despotes porphyrogennetos. Two possible identifications: the third son of emperor Michael VIII Palaiologos, 1261-1306, or a son of emperor Andronicus II Palaeologus, 1278/1281-1334/1335.
Transferred from the Department of British and Medieval Antiquities in 1901.
