MODERN IMPRESSION of a stamp reading " [Mentem sanctam spontaneam hon]orem Deo et patrie liberationem " : the so-called Letters of St. Agatha, see the paper by G. F. Hill in Proc. of Soc. of Ant., 2nd series, vol. xxix, p. 114. The present impression is taken from a straight stamp, perhaps used for impressing the edge of a seal (see the bar used for Boxgrave Priory in the Department of British and Mediaeval Antiquities, also Birch's Catalogue of Seals, vol. i, p. 659, no. 3637, Merton Priory). Nos. 54-63 are impressions made by Mr. A. P. Ready at various dates.
