IMPRESSION of seal of the Vicar-General of William Laud, Archbishop of Canterbury; 1633-1645. W. de G. Birch, Catalogue of Seals in the Department of Manuscripts at the British Museum (1887), no. 1365. Made from a matrix owned by Lt.-Col. William Henry Kingsmill, M.C., of Old Burghclere, Newbury, co. Berks., and said to have been taken from the Thames when the foundations of London Bridge were laid.
