At this point Henry Ansbacher & Co, represented by Louis Albert Hart and Reinhardt, bought John Lane The Bodley Head; Max Reinhardt Ltd changed to Endeavour Press Ltd; Endeavour Press Ltd changed to Max Reinhardt Ltd., which acquired the old Max Reinhardt Ltd for £1 and share capital and undertaking of John Lane The Bodley Head. Includes a list of the firm’s publications reprinted from The Sunday Times of 7 Dec 1958. With a memorandum by Barbara Ker Wilson on The Bodley Head children's book list. Letters which give advice on the takeover of, or being taken over by, other companies, and correspondence on these matters is entered with correspondence relating to the respective companies.
