Foliation: ff 126. Seven unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning and seven at the end.
Dimensions: 190 x 135 mm.
Ruling: 150 x 90 mm, 24 lines per page.
Binding: 18th century binding of gold-tooled red morocco with a floral stamp at the centre of both covers.
Scribe: Ματθαῖος ἱερομόναχος.
Decoration: Coloured penwork headpiece and initial (f 1r).

Origin: Eastern Mediterranean (Monastery of St Catherine, Mount Sinai).
Provenance:
Written by Ματθαῖος ἱερομόναχος for Παχώμιος μοναχός, and dated 2 July 1661: colophon (f 122r).
Philotheus the hieromonk, owned in the 18th century: his ownership inscription (f 1r): ἐκ τοῦ Φιλοθέου ἱερομονάχου κεπρέου.
Caesar de Missy (d. 1775), acquired in 1747: his ownership inscription (f 1r).
Purchased by Mason at de Missy's sale, Leigh and Sotheby's, 18 March 1776, lot 1643.
Owned by Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D. D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
