Created by Philip Traherne (b. 1640, d. 1723), minister and poet, and retained by him after his presentation of MSS 528 and 528b to Lambeth Palace Library.
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D. D., classical scholar: probably acquired by him together with Burney MSS 126, 392, also once owned by Philip Traherne.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
