Frederic Madden, Keeper of Manuscripts (between 1837 and 1866), noted and initialled his opinion of the date: 'saec. XIV. / F.M.' (f. 1r). Added 18th-century heraldic arms (f. 2v), and a full border with heraldic devices (f. 3r)

Large initials in red at the beginning of each epistle (ff. 1r, 24r, 45v, 57v, 64v, etc.), sometimes with simple foliate or geometric decoration.

Collation: i8+1 (1st leaf added; ff. 2-10), ii-x8 (ff. 11-82), xi8+1 (6th leaf inserted; ff. 83-91), xii-xiv8 (ff. 92-115).
Script: Gothic, written 'above top line'.
Binding: Post-1600. Italian reddish-brown polished morocco; covers blind-tooled; spine gilt; 17th century(?) (cf. Burney MS 132).

Unidentified religious institution, N. or N.E. Italy, 13th century(?): an added leaf contains notes on major ecclesiastical feasts (f. 2r-v), and the margins of the main text are annotated with references to lections for feasts, indicating a possible connection to Milan or perhaps the Veneto, e.g. 'In s(an)c(t)is sisinnio ...' (relics at Milan, Ravenna, and Brescia; f. 47r), 'In s(an)c(t)o pa(n)cratio (et) in s(an)c(t)a pelaza [sic?]' (Pelagia is venerated in the Ambrosian rite; f. 48v), 'In s(an)c(t)is p(ro)taxio …' (i.e. Protasio, in Venetian orthography?; f. 65v), 'In s(an)c(t)o babila' (venerated at Milan; f. 81v), 'In vigilia s(an)c(t)i ambrosii' (f. 104v; his main feast is noted on f. 66v), 'In s(an)c(t)o mona[..]' (presumably Monas, the 3rd-century archbishop of Milan; f. 110r).
Unidentified owner, 18th century(?): 'In hoc codice /:qui saeculo XIII. Scriptus esse videtur:/ continentur S. Pauli Apostoli Epistolae omnes.' (f. 1r).
A member of the Visconti family of Milan, 18th century, perhaps Cardinal Eugenio Visconti (b. 1713, d. 1788): the family's arms: argent a serpent vert crowned, swallowing a child gules, a coronet above, the whole surmounted by a red ecclesiastic's hat (f. 2v; cf. Burney MS 132); but not in Élisabeth Pellegrin, La bibliothèque des Visconti et des Sforza ducs de Milan, au XVe siècle, Publications de l’Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes, 5 (Paris: C. N. R. S., 1955).
Unidentified owner: inscribed 'EZ' in brown-red crayon (upper pastedown; cf. Additional MS 69793 with 'FZ' by the same hand).
