Material: Parchment.
Foliation: ff 20. Eight unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning and five at the end, in addition, ff 18a-d, 19, and 19a are flyleaves or leaves of lined Burney notepaper, some with watermarks of an image of Britannia.
Dimensions: Fragment I: 300 x 225 mm. Fragment II: 280 x 180 mm.
Ruling: Fragment I: 210 x 150 mm. Leroy K 40C2, 21 lines. Fragment II: 205 x 150 mm. Leroy K 40E2. 22 lines. Written in two columns on f 20r and in one on f 20v.
Collation (Fragment I only): Gatherings of 8 leaves λαʹ-λβʹ (ff 1-16). λγʹ (ff 17-18) is incomplete. Old pagination pp.481-516.
Decoration (Fragment I only): Illuminated headpiece, f 3v.
Binding: Fragments I-II are kept together in a 19th century binding of quarter leather (cf. Burney 24).

John Monro (b. 1715, d. 1791), physician (autograph note, f 20r): possibly sold at his sale 23 April 1792 as part of lots 3389, 3390, which passed to Burney and now form part of Burney 276 and 277. See also Harley 5672, ff 19r-23r and Oxford, Bodleian Library, Holmes MS 158.
