The script, ruling, and decoration change at the beginning of quire iv (f. 37).
Decoration:
1 large initial in colours and gold (f. 1r). 3 small puzzle initials in red and blue, flourished in red and blue, at the beginning of books (ff. 11v, 21r, 27v, etc.). Small initials in red with blue flourishing or blue with red flourishing (purple with red on f. 47r). Paraphs alternately blue or red except in quires iv-v (ff. 37-60) where they are purple or red.

Foliation: ff. iv + 78 (ff. i-iv and 77-78 are flyleaves).
Collation: i-iii12 (ff. 1-36); iv-vi (ff. 37-72), vii four (ff. 73-76).
Script: Gothic.
Binding: Post-1600. 'Sicily' binding of polished brown calf (typical of manuscripts bought by Burney at Sotheby's, 19 April 1817, which included books said to have been imported from Sicily).

Provenance:
Unidentified medieval owners: with marginal annotations by several hands in pencil and ink.
Formerly part of a larger volume (an old ink foliation (17th century?) runs from '133' to '208'), and perhaps composed of two originally separate volumes: the last several lines of f. 36v are repeated on f. 37r.
Mr White [possibly Joseph White (bap. 1746, d. 1814), orientalist and theologian]: his anonymous sale ('… Recently Imported from the Continent …'), 5 December 1814, lot 565, bought by Burney for £1 6s.
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
