Salviati family, 15th century, when used by Petrus Victorius.
Giovanni Salviati (b. 1490, d. 1553), cardinal: probably his erased ownership inscription (f iii verso); included in the auction catalogue of his library, 1546, lot 77 (Cataldi Palau, ''Cardinale Salviati'' (1995), pp. 70, 82-83, 85, 91).
Charles Townley (b. 1737, d. 1805), collector of antiquities: acquired at Rome in 1773, together with several other Salviati manuscripts, including Burney 75, 109 and 408, and Add. 5423.
John Towneley (b. 1731, d. 1813): his bookplate (f i recto); his sale, Evans’, 8 June 1814, lot 884.
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D. D., classical scholar.
