Cardinal Giovanni Salviati (d.1553): his ownership inscription ('Io. Car. de Salviatis'), f 1r; No.154 in his 1546 catalogue (Cataldi Palau 1995, pp. 76, 83, 91).
Charles Townley (b. 1737, d. 1805): Acquired at Rome in 1773 together with several other Salviati manuscripts, including Burney MSS 75, 86 and 408 and Add. MS 5423.
John Towneley (b. 1731, d. 1813), bibliophile, Charles Townley's uncle: his sale, Evans', 8 June 1814, lot 885, where it was purchased by Burney.
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
