Decoration:
Decorated with fine seven- or eight-line gold initials with white vine-stem decoration on a ground of blue, red, green, and gold (ff. 2r, 40v, 63v), the first with extensions equal to the full height of the text; one two-line initial in plain blue (4v).
Headings to each book in pale red capitals.

Material: Parchment. Flyleaves with watermark of ‘W Turner and Son’.
Dimensions: 265 x 175 mm (text space 175 x 110 mm), in 24 lines. Ruled in blind.
Foliation: ff. iv + 97 + 1* (ff. i-iv and 94-97 are paper flyleaves; ff. 1-1* are original parchment). Burney pagination 1-181.
Collation: i8 (ff. 2-9), ii-ix10 (ff. 10-89), x4 (ff. 90-93). Catchwords.
Script: Written ‘above top line’, in very neat upright humanistic script. The script comparable to that of Additional MS 11994, and close to that of ‘Angelus’ and Pietro Ursuleo, according to unpublished notes of A. C. de la Mare at the Bodleian Library.
Binding: Post-1600. Burney binding of brown leather; gauffered and gilt.

Unidentified humanistic owners, third quarter of the 15th century?: the margins with annotations and alternate readings by two hands, the second sometimes erasing or replacing those of the first (e.g., f. 29r).
Inscribed 'Ieronimi venti', second half of the 15th century (f. 1r).
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
