Dimensions: 175 x 130 mm (text space 130 x 75 mm), in 29 lines. Ruled in very pale ink(?).
Foliation: ff. v + 85 (ff. i-v and 83-85 are flyleaves). Burney pagination 1-158.
Collation: i-viii10 (ff. 2-81).
Sript: Humanistic, written 'above top line', without headings.
Binding: Post-1600. Burney binding of polished calf; the edges mottled in red. Flyleaves with watermark of 'W Turner & Son'.

Origin: Italy, N. E.(?) (written in Ferrara according to unpublished notes of A. C. de la Mare at the Bodleian Library, Oxford).
Provenance:
? Ludovico Ariosto: inscribed 'Mei Ludovici Areosti' (f. 1r), not in same hand as the ownership inscription of Ludovico Ariosto (b. 1474, d. 1533) in Additional MS 12103.
Unidentified reader: with an inscription beginning 'A. Ablati(us) …', 16th century?, to which has been added 'Ex Vaticana', 17th century? (f. 1r).
Unidentified owner: in the anonymous sale of a library 'lately collected by a gentleman on the Continent', Christie's, 20 May 1815, lot 47, bought by Burney for £5.
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
