Foliation: ff. iii + 89 (ff. i-iii and 86-89 are paper flyleaves).
Script: Gothic cursive.
Binding: Post-1600. Brown leather of polished diced calf, rebacked, tooled on the edges of the binding.

Origin: Germany or Austria (close to Melk?).
Provenance:
Formerly bound with Burney MSS 137, 272, and 352, which have similar scripts and the same annotator, with the same watermark as found in Burney MSS 137 and 272 (f. 1r); one of the texts in Burney MS 137 was written by 'Bolfgangus' (?) in 1473 (f. 60r), and Burney MS 272 includes a charter in German dated Melk, Saint George's day 1399.
Included in the anonymous sale ‘A gentleman of taste: Manuscripts etc. purchased on late tour of the Continent’ 1 May 1804, lot 69, (bound with Burney MSS 137, 272, and 352, when the order of texts was Vergil, Cicero, Terence, Valla, bought by Burney.
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney's library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
