Material: Parchment. Watermark, f. 1r, of a quartered coat of arms (for a similar one, cf. Labarre 1950, no. 463 (dated 1711 to London)).
Dimensions: 220 x 155 mm (text space 145 x 100 mm).
Foliation: ff. 1-124 (f. 1 is a paper flyleaf, f. 124 is a parchment flyleaf with evidence of having formerly served as a paste-down).
Script: Humanistic. Scribe: probably written by Pieter Meghen.
Binding: BM/BL in-house. Former post-1600 binding of brown calf with gold-tooled scallop shells kept separately.

Provenance:
Probably written by the Flemish scribe Pieter Meghen (b. 1466, d. 1540) of ’s-Hertogenbosch for one of Meghen’s patrons, Christopher Urswick, (b. 1448?, d. 1522), courtier, diplomat, and ecclesiastic: added arms of the Urswick family of argent on a bend sable, three lozenges of the first, on each a saltire gules, and above, Christopher Urswick's motto ‘Misericordia’ written on a banderole (f. 2r, lower margin).
Thomas Rawlinson (b. 1681, d. 1725), book collector: Latin list of contents in his hand? (f. 1r); his binding: his sale 4 March 1733 (the 16th part), lot 718.
John Nickolls (b. 1710/11, d. 1745), antiquary (inscribed ‘Jn Nickolls’ (f. 1r, upper right hand corner).
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D. D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney's library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
