Additional materials include: (i) a letter from Bill Hamilton to Nature withdrawing his manuscript until Price’s submitted paper had been properly considered; (ii) an open letter granting Price permission to use Bill Hamilton’s Computer Job Number in the University of London Computer Centre; (iii) a library ticket for access to British Museum Reading Room; and (iv) a letter referring to a patent.

Hamilton), Imperial College Field Station, Silwood Park, Sunninghill, Berkshire; letter begins 'I understand that you wish to withdraw your manuscript until the status of Dr. Price’s contribution is resolved'.

1. Reading Room card, 27 December 1973 (1 f), ticket admitting Mr George Price, 1A, Little Titchfield Street, London, W1P 7FG, to the Reading Room of the British Museum and the Newspaper Library (Colindale), C47000, with George Price’s signature.
2. Letter, typescript (1 f) from W. D. Hamilton (with signature) 'To Whom it may concern', stating that 'Dr Price is collaborating with Dr Hamilton on a Computer Simulation Model, and has Dr Hamilton’s permission to use his job number (UMBSV19) on the University of London Computer Centre facilities.' Annotated in blue ballpoint: 'UMBZS19'.
3. Airmail letter, typescript aerogramme (1 f) from R. C. Lewontin, Museum of Comparative Zoology, The Agassiz Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138, USA, 27 August 1974, to George Price, The Galton Laboratory, University College London.
4. Sheet of personalised note paper headed 'Cass Canfield' (1 f) from Cass Canfield, autograph, to George Price, stating: 'Dear Mr Price, Here are 2 copies of the contract duly signed & the check. Will you kindly return one of them with your signature', followed by signature.
5. Letter, carbon copy typescript (1 f) from George Price, 204 Fair Street, Kingston, New York, 28 September 1957, to Mr M. H. Gross, 551 Fifth Avenue, New York City 17, refers to Design Machine patent. See article in Fortune magazine, November 1956, 'How to speed up invention'.
6. Prospectus (2 ff stapled together), entitled 'PROSPECTUS for THE TIME IS NOW by George R. Price', and beginning: 'THE TIME IS NOW will attempt, in about 50,000 words (and no doubt under a different title), to (i) startle the reader by arguing that our present national malady will very likely prove fatal, (ii) examine the causes that have led to our present danger from Russia, and (iii) prescribe what we ought to do if we want to effect a cure – even though we may not be very likely to do it.'.

Letter, carbon copy typescript (2 ff) to Mr Evan Thomas, Harper & Brothers, 49 East 33rd Street, New York City 16, 24 March 1958, from George Price, beginning 'After receiving Mr. Canfield’s letter of March 3 cancelling the contract, I continued to revise the manuscript along the lines indicated in my article suggestion to Life.'
