Scale approximately 1:4,000,000. Inset: Route From India To Europe. As travelled by Mr. Forster. 'Scale of 300 Geographical Miles' [=0.86 inches]. Inset: Bombay To Alexandria Via Suez & Cairo. 'The former vide Road Book.' Scale approximately 1:6,000,000. Inset: Two Travelled Routes, 1st To Constantinople, 2nd Via Bagdad & Aleppo To Cyprus. Scale approximately 1:9,000,000. Apparently signed by Seely. 'Historical and Statistical Illustrations of Countries, Rivers, Cities, and Towns, &c. on the Western or Bombay Side of India; from Original Notes commenced in 1809', as printed gazetteer text, mounted at the right side of the map. 'Historical and Statistical Illustrations of Countries, Rivers, Cities, and Towns, &c. on the Eastern or Gangetic Side of India; from Original Notes commenced in 1809', as printed gazetteer text, mounted at the left side of the map, with note 'Cities, Towns, &c. under the Madras Presidency, will be found in the Road Book.'
