- Letters from her son (John) Campbell Macnabb, 3rd Bengal Cavalry, containing descriptions of early impressions of India and outbreak of the Mutiny at Meerut; with copy of letter written the day he was murdered giving a detailed account of the ineffectiveness of Colonel Carmichael Smyth, 10 May 1857. The original letter is not in the collection. The copy here referred to is taken from a history of the Macnabb family, written by Archibald Corrie Macnabb, in which the letter is quoted, (MSS Eur F 206/287 pp 31-33).
