Volume containing fine manuscript copies of six journal letters written by James Forbes to his sister on:
(1) voyage to Bombay, with remarks on Asia, Africa and America (1765);
(2) Bombay (1769);
(3) Fort Victoria [60-70 miles from Bombay] with remarks on Marathas(1771);
(4) Surat (1771);
(5) Bombay, Anjengo, and Malabar coast including eleven watercolours of coastal ports (1772);
(6) animal and vegetable products of Malabar coast, and manners and customs of Malabars (1773).
Oriental Memoirs included some of the material in the letters and a few of the watercolours.
