Ruled cash book used as a catalogue of performing materials held by the Wandering Minstrels.
A note on the verso of the flyleaf reads, ‘There are complete string parts to all pieces except where specified’. Following this is a key to the abbreviations used in the catalogue. A pencil note on the verso of flyleaf reads ‘Corrected up to Dec /93’.
The music has been divided into categories: Symphonies, Overtures, Marches, Operatic Selections, Gavottes, Minuets, Orchestral Pieces, Cantatas &c, Songs & Solos with Orchestral Accompaniment. At the end of the book, a ‘thematic list’ of the Haydn symphonies in the Wandering Minstrels’ Library has been pinned into the volume. Columns indicate whether a score was held, and how many copies of each of the woodwind, brass and percussion parts were in the library.
