Correspondence relating to the announcement in the press of proposals to publish correspondence of Bernard Shaw by Constable and Co. The announcement produced a large number of replies, those from well-known persons and those including the text of letters sent to them by Shaw being: Feliks Topolski, R Cobden-Sanderson, Edward R. Pease, Sir Donald Wolfit, Rutland Boughton, Philip Eason Verstone (with a copy of two letters from Shaw), Harold White (with a copy of a letter from Shaw), A. N. L. Munby, Peter M. Opie, a letter from solicitors representing Tom Crew enclosing a copy of a letter from Shaw to Crew, Sir Isaac J. Pitman (written to Michael Sadleir), Alan Hadfield (with a copy of a letter from Shaw), Robert T. Bromlow (with a copy of a letter from Shaw), R. Palme Dutt, Ernest Thesiger, Colin Prestige (with a copy of a letter from Shaw), Thomas Jones (with a typed letter from Shaw), Louis Wilkinson (with copies of seven letters from Shaw), Baron Kennet, of the Dene, Ole Cavling (with a copy of a letter from Shaw), Hannen Swaffer, J. R. Till (with a copy of a letter from Shaw), Marie C. Stopes, Dorothy E. Collins, former secretary to G. K. Chesterton, E. E. Bissell (with copies of two letters from Shaw), K. Arnold Hopf (whose letter includes the text of a letter from Shaw) G. K. Brumwell (whose letter includes the text of three letters from Shaw to her late husband, Charles E. Brumwell), Cyril Clemens. All letters were responded to by Constable and Co.
