- Description: This envelope informs us about Junín, the central zone of agricultural Argentina, in the province of Buenos Aires. Originally it pertained to the indigenous population until a fort—Fuerte de la Federación--was built in order to withdraw the attacks of the Native-American population. In time, it became a frontier between them and the criollos. By 1869 it was a small town that developed along the lines of rural production due to the genocide of the indigenous people in the hands of General, and then President, Julio Argentino Roca. By the end of the 19th century and the early 20th century, Junín was a city and a region of agrarian prosperity.The documents of these envelopes deal with Junín’s asylum for poor people (1925) and its hospital, also with the organisation of its volunteer society of firemen (1931), the development of delinquency in the 1930s, its streets and buildings, and its history from 1930s to 1960s. Mistankenly, this envelope also includes data on two towns named Junín, one in the province of San Luis, Argentina, and the other, on the inhabitants of Junín in Perú. This envelope contains a number of tampered envelopes dealing with Junín, province of Buenos Aires. There are two mistakes: most of the documents refer to Junín in Buenos Aires, Argentina, except one that deals with Junín in San Luis, Argentina, and a second that refers to Junín in Peru. A mistake typical of the tampered envelopes that had been rearranged by a team of untrained workers before the Fundación Simón Rodríguez intervened. Extent of original: Tampered envelopes. Condition of original: Regular to bad condition.
