- Title:
- Neuquén [1900s-1950s]
- Scope & Content:
- Description: In 1955, the National Congress created the actual province of Neuquén. This envelope, however, deals when it was a region in Argentine Patagonia where the indigenous population and the army confronted each other to the latter’s advantage. In 1884, the National Territory of Neuquén was created and forts were built to confront the pehuenche and mapuche Native-American inhabitants. After these struggles had come to an end, Neuquén became one of the most important regions in Southern Argentina. At this this time, the economy was engaged in agricultural activities. This envelope contains photos, newspapers’ and magazines’ articles and clippings, maps, four booklets, postcards, and plans. It mistakenly includes information on the Iguazú Falls in the northern province of Misiones. Extent of original: Envelope. Condition of original: Regular condition.
