- Description: This handmade envelope contains typewritten lists with the results of the election of March 5th 1931 according to the political parties and the administrative districts of the province of Buenos Aires. Then, dictator General Uriburu called for general elections to vote the new governor of the province of Buenos Aires with the certainty that the Conservative Party was going to win. But, on March 5th, 1931, the voters chose the Unión Cívica Radical’s candidate—220000 versus 190000 votes. This provoked a crisis in Uriburu’s cabinet and the resignation of all the civilian ministers. finally, Uriburu signed a decree annulling the 1931 election and the Unión Cívica Radical withdrew from politics until the 1935 election.
