- Description: This is a handmade envelope with newspapers' and magazines' articles plus photos that shows the devotion and belief that Argentineans have in this particular saint. The devotion of San Cayetano in Southern Europe and Latin America is considered to be a social phenomenon. The same happens in Argentina although it took place later than in other Latin American countries such as Mexico and Peru. In the administrative district of Liniers in the province of Buenos Aires, a church was founded with the image of the saint. Later on, in 1913, the nuns built a small church in his honour (the Parroquia of San Cayetano). From different neighbourhoods, first and, then, from all parts of the country, fervent believers pilgrim to ask him for jobs. The wheat spike—representing the daily bread and constant job—became his symbol. Extent of original: Handmade envelope . Condition of original: Regular to bad condition.
