A photographic copy of a sketch map produced by Sergeant David Bower showing route of the special mission from Ispahan [Esfahan] to Gwadur [Gwadar] on the Mekran coast. Route of the mission indicated with sextan observations points shown by dots. Boundaries of provinces marked.
Place names illegible or obscured through the reproduction process inserted in black ink and pencil with instructions to a copyist.
A manuscript copy of this map held at IOR/X/3126/1. Reduced version was lithographed and published in 1872 to accompany ‘Journal of the special mission to Seistan and Mekran’ by Charles Bean Euan Smith published in 1871. Printed copies held at IOR/X/3126/3/1 and IOR/X/3126/3/2.
