Navy blue bound autograph journal. First entry 28th May 1982 and last entry 1st August 1994. Enclosed in the pages is a dried leaf.
Guinness was filmed for Edwin (1984) between 8 May 1983 – 10th June 1983. Comments on death of Ralph Richardson in entry for 12th October 1983 and an account of his memorial service on 20th November. An account of a 'spooky' experience in which Guinness encounters the spirit of Ralph Richardson on 15th December 1983. In 1984 Guinness appeared in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. In 1985 Guinness films Little Dorrit 1988 and gives Ashford Cottage to Matthew Guinness. On the 12th July 1989, Guinness notes and reflects on Laurence Olivier's death on the previous.
