The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekov, screenplay by Michael Cacoyannis
- Scope & Content:
- This film adaptation was released in 1999. Guinness was approached for the role of Firs in 1996, but in My Name Escapes Me (1996) he notes his doubts about whether he could play an eighty year old at eighty-two. This script was presumably sent to him so that he could consider whether he would accept the role.
