A detailed letter presenting various landscaping suggestions for Hyde Park, from someone (the signature is obscure) who has 'had a good deal of practice in ground work lately' and has 'naturally taken an interest in what is going on in Hyde Park.' The letter begins with reference to the 'new road by the side of Kensington Gardens, thro' the deer park....'
- 222A-222B. No. 16 Charing Cross, 11 April 1825, Francis Place to W. D. White. Letter refers to the planned elevation of the pavement at Charing Cross (and is addressed to White in the light of 'Mr. Arbuthnot's state of health').
- 223-224. [June 1825], Lord Dynevor to Arbuthnot. Concerning property encroachments. 'I believe that Lascelles wrote to you on the subject some time ago.'
- 225 and 228. Stowe, 13 June 1825, Duke of Buckingham & Chandos to Charles Arbuthnot. Concerning the distribution by the Crown of Carlton House Gardens, and requesting first refusal of that portion from his house 'down to the Park'. The letter encloses a copy letter (226-227) written in reply: Woodford, 16 June 1825, Arbuthnot to the Duke, who advises that 'H.M, as I understand, has Himself decided in what manner the Ground is to be appropriated, & that the Plan thus suggested was highly approved by Lord Liverpool & the Chancellor of the Exchequer. I also know that a promise of Ground for building has been given to the Duke of Bedford; but I do not apprehend that this could in any way interfere with your Grace's wishes.'

Referring to a letter (item 234-235) received by his sister from Princess Sophia Matilda concerning encroachments on Greenwich Park, near the Observatory. Letter 234-235: Rangers House, Blackheath, 20 March 1826, 'SM' to Miss Vansittart. 'I have been rather surprised to find that an order is come from the Office of Woods & Forests, to stake out a considerable Plot of Ground for the Erection of Three Buildings surrounded with Gardens for the Accommodation of the Assistants of the Astronomer Royal near the Observatory.'

- 252-253. Stock House, 20 December 1833, Lord Albemarle to Alexander Milne. Originally enclosing (not present) printed return of duties and emoluments as Ranger of Hampton Court Park. 'I am not aware that I can be more particular as I am in the peculiar situation of acting for the King, by His Majesty's special command, verbally expressed, the King himself being the Ranger of Hampton Court Park.'
- 254-255. Carlton Gardens, 23 March 1835, [Lord] Stanley to J. Dillon. Declining to express an opinion on the 'Petition' sent to him. Refers to Lord Althorp and to Sir Edward Ardington, and to an 'imputation' on Dillon's 'professional character'. Letter endorsed on the verso: 'In 6676/35'.
- 256-257. 9 New Street, Spring Gardens, [Whitehall], 29 November 1839, a letter of authorisation from the Attorney General (J. Campbell) to the Venison Department, Woods & Forests, Whitehall Place, authorising the bearer to receive Campbell's 'two Does' from Richmond Park.
- 258-259. New Street, Spring Gardens, 4 December 1840, a letter of authorisation from the Attorney General (J. Campbell) to the Venison Department, Woods & Forests. He 'requests that the warrants for his 2 Does may be delivered to the Bearer from Richmond Park.'
- 260. July 1846. A brief note, from Jersey to The Commissioners of Her Majesty's Woods: 'Be pleased to deliver The Orders as printed out in this note' (orders not present).
- 261-262. Prospect Place, Wimbledon, 16 September 1846, The Lord Chancellor, Lord Cottenham [Charles Pepys], to the Office of Woods & Forests, who 'will be glad of a Warrant for one Buck & if possible from Richmond Park'.
- 263-264. No date, Lord Spencer to Adams. Writing on behalf of 'a poor Taylor with a large family whose name is Matthew Drew'. Concerning compensation in respect of the demolition of an adjoining property ('works for the new street').
- 265A-265B. No date, a brief note from Sir H. Fane, requesting a situation for William Woodrow: 'a place for an Old Keeper, of the best Character. No fault, but rather too old for fighting.'
