Arabic version of the De sphaera et cylindro (Περὶ σφαίρας καὶ κυλίνδρου; كتاب الكرة والأسطوانة) by the mathematician Archimedes (Ἀρχιμήδης; أرشميدس; fl. 3rd century BC), revised by Thābit ibn Qurrah (ثابت بن قرة; d. 901) and presented here in the edition of Naṣīr al-Dīn al-Ṭūsī (نصير الدين الطوسي; d. 1274) along with a commentary based largely on that by Eutocius of Ascalon (Ἐυτόκιος ὁ Ἀσκαλωνίτης; أوطيوقيوس العسقلاني; d. ca 540), the Commentarii in libros de sphaera et cylindro. For a history of the edition, see the editor's preface (ff. 118v, line 2-119v, line 6). The text ends with an appendix by the mathematician and astronomer Abū Sahl al-Qūhī (أبو سهل القوهي; fl. second half of the 10th century).
