- The photographs are of Kotti-hom which occurred for one month period organized by Balkumari Maharani in Bal-Chandra Palace i.e. Nepali kothi, Banaras. Kotti-hom is a ritual of offering the specially prepared mixture of rice, ghee and other things to the fire, a 10 million times. The Kotti-hom was managed by Col. Bhupal Shumsher. (The details of photographer Pashupati Lall could not be traced which is printed in cover of the album)
