- Description: The collection consists of two essays. "The Life of Basil the New Grigorievo and vision " - one of the earliest monuments of Byzantine literature , highlighting the problem of post-mortem fate of the human soul. In this collection of essays included an option that connects the first part of the text of the literary version of Dmitri of Rostov (late XVII - early. XVIII c.) And the second part - the composition of the Last Judgment - the text of 2nd Russian edition from the “Great Chetih Miney” of Metropolitan Macarius (mid XVI century.). Colorful miniature complement the text and help to put in order the disclosure of the small and large eschatology. " Life of St. Joseph the Beautiful " - the second essay included in the book - not illustrated , with blank sheets prepareded for miniatures. The Old Testament history in the arrangement of Ephrem the Syrian (as indicated in the title).. Extent and format of original material: One bound volume containing 143 folios, 195mm x 160mm. Condition of book is unsatisfactory, it needs restoration. Bindning – wooden covers, covered with leather, divided from book block, clasp was lost. Folios divided from block.
