- Description: Great Mirror (“Velikoe Zertcalo”) – anthology of religious and didactic stories. It was translated from Polish into Russian language in the last quarter of the 17th century. The composition, style and content of the Mirror’s texts were changed in Russian translation. Contents of the book contains of 843 articles. This texts interested Old Believers as lines arguments to defend their traditions. At the end of this book, after the main Mirror`s texts, are the message of Russian Patriarch Filaret to Metropolitan Jonah about compulsory baptism of "Latins" (Roman Catholics).It was important for the Old Believers of pomor accord (“pomorskoe soglasie”), because the constant discussions about baptism of heretics were conducting among them.
