- Author: Nifont, Urals Old-believer, monk. Scribe: Nifont, Urals Old-believer, monk. Description: The message of monk Niphont (the monastery father superior of Old Beliver accord 'Chasovennye') from the Urals to monk Pheophylact (the monastery father superior of Old Beliver accord 'Belokrinitskie') in Western Siberia dated by 1880, approximately. The author criticizes new Old Believer hierarchy (‘Belokrinitskoe soglasie’) as untrue and proves the possibility of salvation without the priesthood. Nifont`s arguments based on the excerptions from the Bible and the Holy Fathers books. The message is an example of polemical composition. The rules of wedding ceremony and child upbringing were included in this book after Nifont message. The aforecited texts are reflected three actual problems of Old Believers everyday life and religious practice at the end of the 19th century. .
