- Author: Valentin, Ural Old-believer, monk. Description: Book includes liturgical texts, excerpts from patristic books. It also contains historical and genealogical work ‘Pedigree of Trans-Urals Old believers «chasovennye», (‘Rodoslovie Chasovennyh Zauralya’) by monk Valentin dated 1879 and enlarged in 1900. ‘Pedigree’ consists of 4 chapters. It describes the sequence and succession of true ascetics and priests, revered by ‘chasovennye’ – the dominant Old Believer accord (‘soglasie’) in the Urals. This unique historical composition is significant text for the reconstruction of their social and religious life. It serve an evidence of approving attitude to discontinuation of priests.. Extent and format of original material: One bound volume containing 192 folios, 185 mm x 230 mm. Condition of book – satisfactory. Binding: boards covered with material, strengthened by two metal strips. Paper stamps: 1 ("Fabriki/nasledniki/Sumina/№4") - folios: 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 17, 21, 23, 27; 2 ("Fabriki/Yates/№6B") - folios: 29.
