- Description: This volume is an index to the Miscellaneous Return Book. The main subject of the volume is the administrative activities of the Liberated African Department. There are accounts relating to the number of Liberated Africans under the charge of the General Superintendent, the number of people employed in different types of labour, the number of acres of land in cultivation, as well as accounts of the supplies furnished to Liberated Africans and expenditure on provisions. The volume also contains information on public buildings belonging to, or in the charge of, the Liberated African Department. Extent of original material: 1 volume of 440 folios.
