Scope & Content:

25 communications (1980-92) from artist and book illustrator Peter Bailey, who illustrated three volumes by Harwood: Rope Boy to the Rescue (1988), Assorted Stories: Prose Works (1987), and In the Mists: Mountain Poems (1993). In 1992, Harwood and Bailey edited The Empty Hill: Memories and Praises of Paul Evans. The letters make reference to walks with Harwood and Evans, in Wales and in Sussex, and to a shared enthusiasm for Jocelyn Brooke.
